The Morgan doll
Here's the doll I like the most (so far). The Morgan doll. I made him using a pattern from Dancing Rain Dolls. He's a 12 inch jointed doll. (jointed means the arms can move 360 degrees) I like him the most because I really felt like I was making something that other people would like too, not just me. I made him a tye dyed shirt (using some cool batik fabric) and some cut off jean shorts (using an old pair of my pants).

The Aunt Kate Doll
The aunt Kate doll is a pink ballerina. It's definitely one of the ways I remember my little sister looking when she was little. I looked for a picture of her, but I don't have one. I'll keep looking and update the blog after I find one.
With the aunt Kate doll, I took a little more 'creative' liberty. I drafted my own pattern for her and made her head a little bigger. I used two colors for her eyes and put some pretty pink highlights in her hair. I loved making her tutu! It's so frilly and cute.
After I finished the aunt Kate doll, I decided it was time to make Morgan a doll. So, that's next!

And Then There Were Two!
I also learned a lot with this doll. She's not stuffed enough. Waldorf dolls are almost hard, and my first attempts at these dolls have been squishy. Also, I had to make the pattern for her clothes because the supplier that I got the pattern from had clothes that were too outdated. (but it's okay, because I loved designing the clothes!)
Anyway, I love her! (and the boys think it's funny that mommy has a 'mommy' doll!) Up next, the Aunt Kate doll!

The Makings of a Doll
I waited impatiently for the stuff to ship to me. Luckily, the supplier is in Michigan and it didn't take too long. When the box came, I was so excited! (as a stay at home mom, you look forward to the little things.) I wasn't prepared for the feelings that I felt when I opened the box though. Inside, there was sheeps wool, and it smelled so great! I was kind-of overcome with really good, home-y feelings. I was officially hooked!
Making the 'Gavin doll' was a lot of work. I was up a few late nights after the boys were in bed finishing it. But I think he turned out great for my first try!
